It wasn’t a cliff hanger ending which I am not a fan of. This book felt complete while also leaving enough interest to make me go looking for the second book. I didn’t have any parts of the book where I was like “well, that was unnecessary”. I felt like the characters were well developed and had character developments that made sense. Not only was it my first foray into fantasy but also the book that got me back into reading after a solid year long reading slump. One chance encounter leads her on this grand adventure into a new world where she either sinks or swims.Īs I said, this book was so good.

Maas has this incredible skill that sucks you into her world where you never want to leave it. So much so that I read the whole ACOTAR series in less than a week. It got me absolutely hooked to the genre. What a fantastic choice I made to make this book my debut. Reading this book was one of my first forays into the fantasy genre.
